AI Governance, Law & Philosophy

I make European digital law workable for people who have products to build, turning frameworks like the EU AI Act and GDPR into requirements an organization can act on.

I work at the intersection of AI governance, digital regulation, and philosophy, with a particular interest in the questions emerging as AI becomes more autonomous, more persuasive, and more deeply embedded in human life.

As Resident Philosopher on AI Governance and Policy at The AI Collective, a San Francisco-based NGO, I translate emerging questions about AI and society into governance problems that companies and policymakers can act on. I have presented this work at Stanford University, the EUIPO, AI Summit Europe, the Gaia Conference, EIT Culture & Creativity, and many other venues around the world.

On the regulatory side, I help make European digital law workable for people who have products to build: the EU AI Act, GDPR, Data Act, DSA, Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2, and ISO/IEC 42001. I work across jurisdictions, including Brazil’s LGPD and its emerging AI legislation, and follow the shifting regulatory landscape in the United States.

On the operational side, having built and led legal and data protection functions in-house, I read regulation from the implementation end. Not simply what does the law say, but what does it require an organization to build, document, measure, govern, and change.

Law asks what technology is allowed to do. Governance asks how we make those limits operational. Philosophy asks whether we are asking the right questions in the first place. The most consequential AI governance problems increasingly require all three.

My academic background reflects this intersection. I hold a law degree, with further specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Privacy, an MBA in Digital Law, and a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Law. I am currently pursuing doctoral research at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Law.

The AI & Society Dialogues

A year-long global Socratic experiment in AI philosophy, built around a simple premise: before deciding how AI should be governed, we need to ask better questions about how it is changing human life. Across thirteen global dialogues with participants from fifty-two countries, I brought legal scholars, neuroscientists, psychologists, technologists, founders, policymakers, and communities into conversation about AI, intimacy, autonomy, therapy, childhood, work, education, spirituality, and what it means to live alongside increasingly relational machines. Rather than beginning with predetermined answers, the project used dialogue as a method of inquiry, surfacing tensions, challenging assumptions, and translating what we heard into emerging questions for AI governance and public policy.
